Charlotte averages ~43 inches of rainfall annually, distributed fairly evenly across months. Hurricane remnants occasionally bring heavier rain in September.

The area enjoys roughly 218 sunny days per year — more than New York, Boston, or Seattle, comparable to Atlanta.

What This Means For Living

Patio season runs roughly mid-March through early November — eight months of credible al fresco dining. Golf is year-round at private clubs; pools open by Memorial Day and close after Labor Day.

Mountain access (Asheville, Boone, Blowing Rock) is two hours northwest; coastal beaches (Wrightsville, Charleston, Kiawah) are three to four hours east and southeast. SouthPark is one of the few American luxury markets within easy weekend reach of both.
