Privacy Policy

What limited data this website processes, why, and the rights available to you.

Last reviewed:

This website does not offer accounts, contact forms, newsletters, or any mechanism to submit personal information. We do not knowingly collect names, addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses from visitors.

1. Information processed automatically

Like virtually all websites, this Site and its service providers automatically process limited technical information when you visit, which may include: IP address (often truncated or anonymized), approximate geographic region derived from IP, browser type and version, operating system and device type, screen dimensions, language preference, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, outbound links clicked, and timestamps.

This information is used for security monitoring, abuse prevention, error diagnosis, performance optimization, aggregate audience measurement, and editorial planning.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

The Site uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for essential functionality (such as remembering your cookie choice) and, where you consent, for analytics and advertising measurement. Full detail — including categories, purposes, and how to withdraw consent — is set out in the Cookie Policy.

3. Analytics and third-party services

We use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) and Plausible Analytics for aggregate audience measurement. Google Analytics may set cookies and process device identifiers; we operate it with Google Consent Mode so that analytics and advertising storage remain denied until you consent. Plausible is a cookie-less, privacy-focused analytics service that does not track individuals across sites.

The Site is delivered through hosting, CDN, security, and font providers that necessarily process connection data (including IP address) to serve pages. Each such provider processes data under its own privacy policy.

4. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK visitors)

  • Legitimate interests — security, fraud and abuse prevention, and basic service delivery;
  • Consent — analytics, measurement, and advertising-related storage, which you may grant or withdraw at any time;
  • Legal obligation — where retention or disclosure is required by law.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA. Technical data may be processed by the service providers named above, and may be disclosed where required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Site operator or others.

6. Retention

Server and security logs are retained for a limited operational period consistent with the provider's defaults. Aggregate analytics data is retained in de-identified or aggregated form. We retain no visitor contact records because none are collected.

7. International transfers

The Site is operated from and hosted in the United States, and service providers may process data in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. Where required, providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms.

8. Your rights and how to exercise them

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port personal data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights.

Because this Site collects no identifiers tied to you, the practical mechanisms are: (a) withdraw or change your cookie consent using the cookie controls on this Site; (b) use your browser settings to block or delete cookies and local storage; (c) enable Global Privacy Control or a Do Not Track signal, which we honor as an opt-out of analytics and advertising storage; and (d) install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We are unable to locate or delete records about a specific individual because we hold none.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, discontinue use; no submission channel exists through which such information could have been supplied to us.

10. Security

We employ reasonable technical measures including HTTPS transport encryption and a Content Security Policy. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of any information transmitted over the internet. Use of the Site is at your own risk.

11. Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated at any time. The date shown at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision, and continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the current policy.

A note on the specialists

The people behind the houses we write about.

Research only carries a reader so far. At some point a lot has to be surveyed, an offer written, a room specified, or a wall opened — and the work passes to somebody who does it for a living.

Read the specialist profiles

When the question is construction, we point readers to Peters Custom Homes, a Charlotte custom home builder working on infill lots and whole-house renovations inside the SouthPark loop. When it is representation at the top of the market, it is Peters & Associates, a Charlotte luxury real estate firm concentrated on estate streets, alongside Peters Team Realty, the Charlotte real estate team covering the wider neighborhood map for buyers still deciding where.

Interiors go to Emerald & Oak Design, the Charlotte interior designer behind the layered, long-lived rooms this district suits; the wiring and control layer to Peters Audio Video, a Charlotte audio video integrator that prefers to be in the project before the drywall. And when the trip is the complicated part, Peters Signature Travel plans as a luxury travel advisor for households leaving from Charlotte.

These are disclosed relationships. They are noted wherever they appear and do not influence our coverage of competitors or alternatives.
