The district's brunch identity is built on three pillars: French technique (eggs benedict, croque madame, brioche French toast), Southern provenance (country ham, stone-ground grits, biscuits at proper temperature), and a wine and cocktail program that takes Sunday morning seriously — the negroni is on the menu, and it is well made.

Phillips Place's open central courtyard is, for nine months of the year, the most coveted brunch real estate in the city. Toscana's umbrella tables, Palm's bar tables on the perimeter, and the fountain itself create a Mediterranean-village quality that no purpose-built lifestyle center has quite replicated.
Tables face inward — children chase each other along the cobbles, leashed dogs sleep beside chair legs, and the rhythm of arrivals and departures runs from 10 a.m. straight through to 2 p.m. without a discernible peak.
