Atrium Health and Novant Health serve the SouthPark area through flagship and specialty campuses. Atrium's Carolinas Medical Center (Level I trauma, transplant program, comprehensive cancer center) sits five miles north; Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center is six miles northeast.

The 2022 merger creating Advocate Health (Atrium + Advocate Aurora) made Atrium the fifth-largest non-profit health system in the U.S., expanding research and academic affiliations through Wake Forest University School of Medicine — Charlotte.
