The Mountains

Asheville (2h), Blowing Rock (1h45), Boone (2h), and the Blue Ridge Parkway are the standard weekend mountain escapes. Cashiers and Highlands (3h) host SouthPark families' summer second homes.

The Coast

Wrightsville Beach (3h15), Bald Head Island (3h30 + ferry), Kiawah and Seabrook (4h), and Charleston (3h15) are the closest beach options. Charleston is the most popular weekend destination for SouthPark couples — easy direct drive, world-class dining, and a similar architectural sensibility.

Lakes & Wine Country

Lake Norman (30 min) is the closest big-water option, with the Peninsula Yacht Club drawing many SouthPark members. Yadkin Valley wine country (1h30) is North Carolina's only true AVA cluster — Shelton, RagApple Lassie, and Raffaldini are the heritage producers.

Pinehurst & Golf Trips

Pinehurst Resort (1h45) — Nos. 2, 4, 8, 10 — is the most legible weekend pilgrimage from SouthPark. The 2024 U.S. Open returned the spotlight, and the new No. 10 (Tom Doak, 2024) added another reason to go.
